The agreement between Coble and the business that signs up to use it. They are written to be read: if something here is unclear, ask us before you rely on it.
Who this is between
Coble is run by the business named on our legal page. When this page says “Coble”, “we” or “us”, it means that business.
You can write to us at the address on our legal page.
“You” means the business that signs up, and everybody you give access to. You confirm that you are signing up for a business, not as a consumer.
What Coble provides
A booking system for the places you let or hire out: your own booking page, a calendar, online payment into your own Stripe account, confirmation and reminder emails, an admin panel for you and your team, reviews from your guests, and — at our discretion — a listing in the Coble directory.
Your account
- Keep your details accurate, and your password to yourself.
- You are responsible for what the people you invite do, within the role you give them.
- We strongly recommend two-step sign-in for everybody with access to money.
The free trial, and your plan
Every account starts with a 30-day free trial. After it, you pay the monthly or yearly price of your plan, which is set by how many places you let; the current prices are on our pricing page. Subscriptions are billed in advance by Stripe and renew automatically.
Moving up a plan takes effect straight away, and you pay the difference for the rest of the period. Moving down takes effect at the end of the period you have paid for. We will give you at least 30 days’ notice by email of any change to what you pay.
Coble takes no commission on your bookings, unless you have agreed something different with us in writing.
If a payment fails
For the first 14 days nothing changes, and we email you. From day 15 your booking page stops taking new bookings — existing bookings are not affected. After 30 days your account is suspended. Your data is kept, and can be exported, for 90 days after that.
Leaving Coble
You can cancel at any time from Billing. Your plan runs to the end of the period you have paid for, and is not refunded in part. You can export your bookings before you go.
Your guests’ payments
Guests pay you through Stripe, into your own Stripe account, under Stripe’s Connected Account Agreement, which you accept with Stripe when you connect. Coble never holds your money.
Refunds, disputes and chargebacks, Stripe’s fees, and tax on your income are yours.
You are the trader
Your guests book with you, so consumer law applies to you as the trader. In particular:
- Describe your place accurately, with honest photographs.
- Show prices that include every compulsory charge, and state your cancellation terms.
- Give your business’s name and geographic address in Settings — guests are shown them before they pay.
- Honour the bookings you take, and refund in full any you cancel.
You are also responsible for the rules that apply to your place: short-term let licensing or registration where it applies (a licence number must be shown in listings in Scotland), fire, gas and electrical safety, planning, insurance, and — for a hall — any premises licence your events need.
Your content
What you put on Coble — descriptions, photographs, prices — stays yours. You give us permission to host it and show it to run the service, including in the directory, in search engines and in link previews. You confirm you have the right to use the photographs you upload.
Reviews
You cannot edit or remove reviews of your place; you can reply to them and report them. You must not offer anything in return for a review, or write or arrange reviews of your own place. Our reviews policy has the detail.
Your guests’ personal information
For your guests’ details, you are the controller and Coble is your processor. Our data processing agreement is part of these terms. Coble does not send marketing to your guests, and if you do, you need their consent.
Using Coble properly
Do not use Coble for anything unlawful, to mislead guests, or in a way that harms the service or other people using it — including trying to get into accounts that are not yours, copying the service, or overloading it.
Availability and support
We work to keep Coble running all the time, but cannot promise it will never be interrupted, for example for maintenance. Support is by email at the address on our legal page.
Liability
We are not liable for loss of profits, bookings, business or goodwill, or for indirect or consequential loss. Our total liability to you in any 12 months is limited to what you paid us in that time.
Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything the law does not allow to be limited.
Suspension and ending
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, puts guests at risk, or leaves us open to legal action — with notice where we can give it. When an account closes, its bookings can still be exported for 90 days; after that your guests’ personal information is deleted, as the data processing agreement sets out.
Changes to these terms
We will email you at least 30 days before a change that matters takes effect. If you do not accept it, you can cancel before then.
The rest
These terms, the data processing agreement and the pricing page are the whole agreement between us. They do not create a partnership or agency. They are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts deal with any dispute.
