A review is only worth reading if it is real and nobody could have removed the bad ones. These are the rules every review on Coble is published under.
Who can leave one
Only somebody who booked a place through Coble and stayed, or held their hire. After the stay they are sent a private link, which works once and expires after 90 days. There is one review per booking, and no open form anybody could fill in.
What is published
Every review that keeps to these rules is published — good or bad — with the reviewer’s first name and initial and when they stayed. The rating shown for a place is the average of all its published reviews.
An owner cannot edit, hide or delete a review. They can reply to it publicly, and they can report one to us.
What is not allowed
- Offering money, discounts or anything else in return for a review, or for a good one.
- An owner, their staff or anyone connected with them reviewing their own place.
- A review that is not about a real stay.
The law
Fake reviews, concealed incentivised reviews and presenting reviews in a misleading way are banned under the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024. Owners agree to these rules in their terms, and breaking them can end an owner’s use of Coble.
When we remove one
Only if it is unlawful, threatening or hateful, gives away somebody’s personal details, is not about the stay, or is not genuine. Disagreeing with a review is not a reason — replying to it is the answer to that.
A reported review stays visible while we look at it. To report one, owners use their panel; anybody else can write to us at the address on our legal page.
